ABOUT PORTUGAL VENTURES
Portugal Ventures is Portugal's state-backed venture capital firm, founded in June 2012 and integrated in the Banco Português de Fomento group, with headquarters in Porto and an office in Lisbon. It invests from pre-seed through Series A in startups headquartered in Portugal, with tickets of up to €6M, across digital, industry, life sciences and tourism, and reports around €283M under management. It is the country's most active early-stage investor by deal count, having backed 256 startups and invested roughly €233M since 2012. Portugal Ventures backs capital-efficient founders with global ambition and counts three unicorns among its results — OutSystems, BitSight, and Fever — with the Fever position exited at a reported 15x return in March 2026.
