Espírito Santo Ventures
ABOUT ESPÍRITO SANTO VENTURES
Espírito Santo Ventures is a Lisbon venture capital entity (an SCR) founded in 1999, with historical roots in the BES/Novo Banco banking group. It has focused on later-stage technology investments, at Series B and beyond, across electronics, fintech, internet, and broader tech. Espírito Santo Ventures is notable for early backing of two Portuguese success stories that have since exited: OutSystems, the low-code application platform, and Feedzai, the financial fraud-prevention company. Its wider portfolio includes Malo Clinic, Sousacamp, AquaSpy, Ynvisible, HeartGenetics, Berd, SafetyPay, and Coreworks, spanning healthcare, agriculture technology, printed electronics, genetics, engineering, and payments. As a legacy vehicle tied to the BES/Novo Banco financial group, Espírito Santo Ventures represents one of the earlier institutional venture investors in Portugal, with a track record that predates much of the country's current startup ecosystem and includes exposure to companies that grew into internationally recognised technology firms.
